Update – November 7, 2025: The National Superintendence of Immigration has resolved the technical issue affecting its online platform. Foreign nationals can now submit visa renewal applications normally. Processing times are expected to return to normal as backlogged cases are addressed.
October 24, 2025: The National Superintendence of Immigration’s online platform, Agencia Digital, is currently experiencing technical difficulties that are preventing applicants from submitting visa renewal applications. It is unclear when the issue will be resolved. There is no alternative method of submission, since all immigration procedures in Peru are processed online. Consequently, visa renewal processing delays (including renewals for Appointed Worker Visas, Resident Worker Visas, Dependent Visas, etc.) can be expected for the next few weeks until the system is fully restored. Foreign nationals who have pending renewals are generally considered to be in valid status, even if their initial status expired while the application was pending with authorities. However, individuals whose status has expired and whose renewals have not yet been filed should avoid international travel, as departing Peru could result in the loss of their Peruvian immigration status.
Initial visa applications, both consular and in-country, are unaffected. Fragomen is actively monitoring the system and contacting affected clients and will report on relevant updates as they occur. Foreign nationals are encouraged to consult with their immigration professional for case-specific advice, including potential travel restrictions that may apply to their situation.
