Poland: In-country D Visa Applications Now Possible for Some Belarusian and Ukrainian Nationals

As an update, since September 22, 2022, eligible Belarussian and Ukrainian citizens can apply for a long-term D visa in Poland, where they are normally required to apply abroad. This includes applicants from Belarus applying for humanitarian visas while already holding another valid Polish humanitarian visa; applicants from Belarus applying for humanitarian visas if they stayed legally before February 24, 2022 in Ukraine and arrived in Poland from February 24, 2022 in connection with the war in Ukraine; applicants from Belarus or Ukrainian citizens applying for work visas in order to work as a driver in international transport; and Ukrainian citizens applying for work visas to work as a pilot of a civil plane or other crew member. In-country visa applications are submitted through visa centers that operate in Warsaw, Poznan and Cracow (an online appointment is required) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will process the application. The average visa processing time is 7-28 days. As an important reminder, applicants must have an issued visa before their current visa/residence permit expires.
