Qualified Ukrainian Nationals Eligible for Priority Work Permit Application Processing in Ukraine
December 1, 2015
Highly-qualified Ukrainian nationals are eligible for a program that will allow Employment Card and EU Blue Card application submission at the Czech consulate in Ukraine with a priority appointment date instead of the standard consular appointment system, according to a new government program meant to facilitate the entry of Ukrainian workers.
Benefits of the Program
The Czech embassy or consulate will inform the applicant of a priority consular appointment date and time once the Czech business recommendation letter is received. Appointments through this program are typically scheduled sooner than appointments available through the standard process.
Qualifications
Highly-qualified nationals must possess:
- specific knowledge and expertise that is crucial for a specific project, technology or to the management of an enterprise; and
- a university degree or, in the case of some specific professions, a secondary school degree with a passing secondary examination score.
Required Documentation
Apart from the standard required documentation for Employee Card and Blue Card applications, the following documents are required under the program:
- Recommendation letter from the Czech business industry regulatory body;
- Verified certificate of incorporation;
- Confirmation of Czech tax, social security and public health insurance payment compliance;
- Affidavit guaranteeing payment of minimum wage stipulated for the EU Blue Card to all qualified specialists (including those applying for an Employment Card) and guaranteeing employment of at least one year;
- Affidavit that the specialist meets the necessary qualifications; and
- Affidavit that the specialist is crucial to the company's operations in the Czech Republic.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Qualified Ukrainian nationals should benefit from a streamlined and efficient Employment Card and Blue Card application process. Interested employers should contact their immigration professional to ensure program compliance.
This program may be extended to other countries where Employment Card and Blue Card applicants are subject to the online appointment system.
