Foreign nationals in Istanbul attempting to book initial residence permit appointments for their dependents on the Istanbul Migration Directorate website are likely to face delays as the system has not displayed any available appointment dates for several days.
There has not been an official announcement about this issue and a solution is not expected soon as many government offices will be understaffed for the next month.
Background
Since the residence permit application process was transitioned to an online system in late May, there have been backlogs, system outages and process changes associated with the residence permit application process.
What This Means for Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals in Istanbul that need to book appointments to obtain residence permits for their dependents are advised to keep trying to obtain a date on the online system. There is no other workaround for this issue at this time.
