Despite having some of the most immigrant-friendly policies in the world, Canada continues to experience an upward trend in backlogs, a shift that began in conjunction with the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Rick notes that changing processing times are preventing families and even businesses from planning anything ahead of time. He also shares his thoughts what can be done to help the situation: "One of the solutions is focusing on prioritizing groups or processes and fixing them instead of trying to have a catch-all approach. So people understand how to process these applications,” he said.
