Russia: Long-Delayed Unified Short-term E-visa Launched
August 1, 2023
Following multiple delays (dating back to 2020), the unified short-term e-visa for nationals of 52 countries is now available, with a further three nations (Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam) expected to be added to the scheme in the near future. E-visa holders can enter all regions in Russia for 16 days in a 60-day period. Previously, e-visa holders could only access four regions and only for eight days in a 60-day period. E-visas are available for single entries as a guest, business traveler, tourist, or for humanitarian purposes (sport and cultural connections, participation in international events). Processing times remain up to four calendar days. The official visa fee is now USD 40 (whereas previously it was free).
