
As a reminder, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in Singapore is set to implement a new points-based evaluation framework, the Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS), beginning September 2023, for new Employment Pass (EP) applications. From September 2024, this framework will also be applied to EP renewals. COMPASS evaluates EP applications on a holistic set of individual and employer-related attributes, with applications scored on four foundational criteria with bonus criteria for skills in shortage or support for strategic economic priorities. Applicants must score at least 40 points but exemptions from COMPASS are available under certain conditions, such as earning a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD 22,500.
