Slovakia: Simplified Visa Process for Managers from Third Countries
October 4, 2022
Third-country nationals who are managers of companies (defined as ‘an expert requiring exceptional professional knowledge, skills, abilities, knowledge, qualifications, and experience necessary for operation or management’) can now apply for a long-term D visa instead of temporary residence to work in Slovakia. Eligibility for this visa includes that the foreign employer must have an organisational or business unit of a foreign entity in Slovakia; that the manager has signed an employment contract with the Slovak entity; and their wage must be higher than double the average wage in Slovakia. Long-term D visas cannot be granted to foreign nationals who already hold a valid temporary residence permit.
