Some Resident Worker Visa Applicants Subject to Stricter Eligibility Requirements

The Ministry of Labor may require some foreign nationals under the Resident Worker Visa - which requires a local employment contract and local payroll - to demonstrate that they have at least three years of relevant work experience, and that their university diploma is directly related to the position in Peru. The related legislation has not yet been formally implemented, and as such, these requirements are not being officially enforced. However, they are expected to be implemented eventually. 

Previously, Resident Worker Visa applicants only needed to prove one year of relevant work experience, evidenced by an experience letter from the foreign national's current employer.

Foreign nationals under the Resident Worker Visa should contact their immigration professional to discuss evidentiary options to prove the relevant work experience, which remain unclear at this time.
