South Africa: Biometric Identification and One-Stop Border Post Bills Published for Comment

The Department of Home Affairs has published the National Identification and Registration Bill and a One Stop Border Post Bill for public comment. The National Identification and Registration Bill proposes, among other changes, the introduction of reference numbers for temporary residents. The One-Stop Border Post Bill would establish comprehensive centers to manage the movement of people and goods at South Africa's land borders. We will track the progress of the bill.
