Bosnian law provides many solutions to help employers of foreign nationals. Requirements, processing times, employment eligibility, and benefits for accompanying family members vary by visa classification.

Business visitors to Bosnia typically use a short-stay visa (Type C), which allows stays of up to 90 days in a 180-day period.

Foreign nationals who intend to work in Bosnia must obtain a Work Permit, which allows stays of up to one year. The Work Permit is subject to quotas, set by the government annually.

Note that foreign employees must be registered with the pension insurance and health insurance fund by their employers, who must make monthly contributions on their behalf.
