Foreign nationals, unless exempt by treaty or other agreement, require a Business Visa to conduct business activities in Curacao. First-time Business Visas are generally issued for a single entry and a maximum consecutive stay of 30 days. Subsequent visa applications may result in the issuance of a multiple-entry visa.
Regardless of the visa validity, visa holders must limit their stay in Curacao to 90 days within a one-year period. Business Visa holders may not apply for an extension of stay in Curacao.
Foreign nationals seeking to work in Curacao require a Work Permit and Residence Permit, issued for six months or one year. Work Permits are issued by Curacao's Labour Department and Residence Permits are issued by Curacao's Immigration Department. Foreign nationals may extend their permits in country.
U.S. passport holders are eligible to apply for an indefinite work and residence permit called an Admission by Right permit (same as that offered to Dutch nationals born abroad) which allows holders to work for any employer in Curacao.
