If your company is sending employees to Macedonia—Fragomen is here to help. Working closely with our Local Advisors in Macedonia, we provide the immigration strategies and support you need to get your employees on the ground as quickly as possible.

The immigration law of Macedonia provides many solutions to help employers of foreign nationals.  Requirements, processing times, employment eligibility, and benefits for accompanying family members vary by visa classification.

Business visitors require a short-stay visa, under which the maximum allowable consecutive stay is 90 days within a 180-day period.

Work permits are granted for six months, with the possibility of renewal. A work permit will be annulled if the foreign national stays outside of Macedonia for an uninterrupted period of more than six months, except if the absence is due to assignment to a foreign country, education, sickness, maternity, or childcare leave.

Note that foreign employees must be registered in the national health insurance fund by their employers. Registered foreigners are entitled to free health care.

Detailed Immigration Snapshots, Document Lists and Process Guides are available to clients on request.
