Sweden: Proposed Bill to Encourage Entry of Highly-Skilled Workers
February 23, 2023
A proposed bill would, among other changes, implement changes to limit lower-skilled labor and encourage highly-skilled foreign nationals to stay in Sweden. Proposals include: the implementation of a minimum salary requirement (on par with the median salary in Sweden) with exemptions for certain occupations, a ban on work permits for certain occupations, a new rule that would require private health care insurance for all foreign nationals and other facilitations to promote the entry of highly-skilled foreign nationals. We will track the progress of the bill.
