
The Board of Investment (BOI) has introduced new guidelines and serious penalties to address document forgery in applications submitted through the Single Window (SW) system. Penalties vary based on the number of offenses. For a first offense, companies receive a warning, foreign employees face a 180-day ban on submitting applications, and the incident is reported to the Police Bureau. A second offense results in a one-year suspension of the company’s SW system access, while a third offense leads to a permanent suspension from using the SW system. Applicants found to be repeat offenders will lose their right to be employed as foreign skilled workers. When an offense is identified, senior executives of the company, such as the Managing Director, President, or CEO, will be notified and required to clarify the matter with BOI within 15 days of receiving the notification. These measures aim to ensure compliance and integrity within the application process.
