Thailand: Upcoming Changes to Long-stay Visa Extension Requirements

The Immigration Bureau at the One Stop Service Centre (OSSC) has announced revisions to the long-stay visa extension/renewal requirements, effective November 1, 2023. Documents spanning a period of three months will be required, an increase from the current requirement of one month only for long-stay visa applications filed at the OSSC. This includes copies of forms and receipts for monthly salary withholding tax (P.N.D. 1), which must be officially certified by the Revenue Department. The company must also provide the original certification receipt. We expect the Thai government will increase the requirements of other tax documents in the future. If the required documents cannot be provided in time, employees and any applicable dependents will not be able to renew their visas and will have to cancel their visas and leave Thailand.
