Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium (WiSLS) 2023

Fragomen is a sponsor of the Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium (WiSLS) 2023 which will take place at Tulane Law School on January 27-28, 2023.
Fragomen Partner Karine Wenger and Senior Associate Monica Sherman Ghiglia will present their panel, "Immigration Hurdles for International Athletes: Strategic Considerations from College to Retirement" alongside Christina LaBrie, Vice President of Player Relations at Major League Soccer; Erinn Banks, Associate Director for NCAA Compliance at Tulane; LaKeisha C. Marsh, Partner, Chair of the Higher Education & Collegiate Athletics Practice, Chair of the Government & Public Policy Practice Group at Akerman LLP; and Maddie Salamone, Sports Attorney and College Athlete Advocate.
The panel will take place on Saturday, January 28 from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM CST.
Writing Competition:
In addition to their panel, our Fragomen participants will judge the Women in Sports Law Symposium (WiSLS) 2023 Legal Scholars Writing Competition. The competition is designed to encourage students to express their views on a preselected topic. The contest gives law students an opportunity to practice their legal research and writing skills while also gaining support and recognition from experienced legal practitioners.
About the Symposium:
The Women in Sports Law Symposium (WiSLS) is a networking and professional development event in New Orleans that recognizes woman lawyers for their work and achievements within the professional scope of sports law, while also connecting generations of change makers interested or involved in the industry.
