United Arab Emirates: Temporary Pause on Issuing Freelance Visas

The United Arab Emirates has temporarily paused issuing freelance visas – a form of residency permit that allows foreign nationals to legally work and reside in the United Arab Emirates as self-employed professionals. Renewals of freelance visas remain unaffected. The reason for the pause and its expected duration is unknown. Fragomen will publish additional information as developments occur.
