Visa on Arrival Restriction Postponed

Visas on arrival will continue to be issued to eligible foreign nationals until a more formal electronic visa issuance system is introduced. This comes as a clarification to the previously-announced restriction. 

Egypt’s decision to retract the visa on arrival program is aimed at improving national security by monitoring the flow of visitors to the country.

As the situation is still developing, there may be other related policy changes in the future. 

What This Means for Foreign Nationals 

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the visa on arrival program, foreign nationals seeking to travel to Egypt should contact the Egyptian consular post in their country of residence to determine whether they need to obtain a consular visa.
