The UAE Cabinet approved a decree granting Indian passports holders eligibility for a visa-on-arrival in the United Arab Emirates, if they have a valid U.S. visa or Green Card, with an allowable stay of up to 14 days (with a one-time extension for a fee). The first day of the program is yet to be announced.
It is yet not clear which U.S. visa category must be endorsed in the foreign national’s passport and how long the visa must be valid.
Currently, 49 nationalities are permitted entry into the United Arab Emirates without applying for a visa before travelling. Visa-on-arrivals are stamped at the entry port and are free of charge.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Indian nationals travelling to the United Arab Emirates who hold a valid U.S. visa or a Green Card will soon benefit from entry without a pre-arranged visa.
