There will be government closures during the Eid-al-Adha holiday across the world, in most countries on May 27 or 28 until May 30, or 31, 2026. Exact dates will vary by country based on lunar sightings. Employers and employees in the below countries should expect longer processing times for various immigration applications with delays possibly persisting after the holiday due to application backlogs. The following countries will close their government offices according to the below schedule:   

Algeria: Expected to be closed May 27-30, 2026. 

Bahrain: Expected to be closed May 26-30 or 31, 2026. 

Bangladesh: Closed May 25-31, 2026. 

Bosnia and Herzegovina: Closed June 6, 2026.  

Brunei: Closed May 27, 2026. 

Egypt: Closed May 26-30, 2026.  
 
India: Closed May 27, 2026. 

Indonesia: Closed May 27-28, 2026 

Iraq: Expected to be closed May 27-30, 2026.  

Iraqi Kurdistan: Expected to be closed May 27-30, 2026. 

Jordan: Closed May 25-30, 2026.  

Kazakhstan: Closed May 27, 2026. 

Kosovo: Closed May 28, 2026. 

Kyrgyzstan: Likely closed May 27, 2026. 

Kuwait: Closed May 26-30, 2026.  

Lebanon: Expected to be closed May 27-28, 2026. 

Morocco: Closed May 27-30, 2026. 

North Macedonia: No closures.  

Pakistan: May 26-28, 2026. 

Oman: Expected to be closed May 26-30, 2026. 

Qatar: Expected to be closed May 26-30, 2026 

Saudi Arabia: Closed May 24-June 1, 2026.

Singapore: Closed May 27, 2026 (Hari Raya Haji) and June 1, 2026 (for May 31, 2026 Vesak Day). 

Tunisia: Expected to be closed May 27-29, 2026. 

Türkiye: Closed May 25-29, 2026. 

United Arab Emirates: Closed May 25-31, 2026.
