Due to the observance of Easter week, government offices in the following countries will be closed as follows:  

  • Albania: closed April 10.
  • Argentina: closed April 6 and April 7. 
  • Austria: closed April 7 and April 10.
  • Bermuda: closed April 7. 
  • Bolivia: closed April 7. 
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina: closed April 14 and 17.
  • Brazil: expected to close April 7. 
  • Canada: closed April 7 and April 10. 
  • Chile: closed April 7. 
  • Colombia: closed April 6 and April 7. 
  • Costa Rica: closed April 3-11. The General Immigration Directorate’s (DGME) online application system (Tramite¡YA!) will be offline from March 31 at 17:00 (local time) until April 11 at 7:00 (local time) for new immigration applications. If a foreign national registers/affiliates through the DGME’s online system before March 31 at 17:00, their documents (such as police clearances and marriage certificates which are only valid for up to six months from the date of issuance) will remain valid through the adjudication of their residence application.
  • Croatia: closed April 10.
  • Czech Republic, Finland and Sweden: closed April 7-10, 2023 
  • Denmark: closed April 6-11, 2023 
  • Dominican Republic: closed April 6 and April 7. 
  • Ecuador: closed April 7. 
  • El Salvador: closed April 3-11.  
  • Germany, Iceland and Norway: closed April 6-10, 2023
  • Greece: closed April 14-17, 2023 
  • Guatemala: closed April 4-7. 
  • Guyana: closed April 7 and April 10, 2023.
  • Hungary: closed April 7 and April 10.
  • Italy: closed April 8-10, 2023 
  • Jamaica: closed April 7 and April 10.  
  • Kenya: closed April 7 and April 10.
  • Kosovo: closed April 10 and April 17.
  • Lichtenstein: closed April 7 and 10.
  • Lithuania: closed April 10, 2023 
  • Luxembourg: closed April 10, 2023 
  • Mexico: expected to close April 6 and 7. Other closures may be announced at short notice.  
  • Moldova: closed April 17 and April 24, 2023 
  • Montenegro: closed April 14 and 17.
  • North Macedonia: closed April 14 and April 17.
  • Panama: expected to close early or entirely on April 6; closed April 7. 
  • Peru: closed April 6 and April 7. 
  • Poland: closed April 10 
  • Portugal: closed April 6 after 12:00 local time through April 7, 2023.  
  • Romania: closed April 14 and April 16-17, 2023.
  • Serbia: closed April 14 and 17.
  • Slovakia: closed April 7 and April 10 
  • Slovenia: closed April 10, 2023 
  • South Africa: closed April 7 and April 10, 2023.
  • Spain: closed April 6-7, 2023. Barcelona’s government offices are also closed April 10, 2023. 
  • Trinidad and Tobago: closed April 7 and April 10. 
  • Uruguay: closed April 6 and April 7. 
  • Venezuela: closed April 3-7.  

Foreign nationals and employers should expect that government offices in other countries may be closed on these dates and should contact the government office for specific information.
