Governments of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have set up helplines for families with marital ties to Qatari nationals in order to address their concerns relating to the recently imposed travel ban impacting the nationals of these countries.
The respective authorities have issued directives to consider the humanitarian situation of mixed families. Helplines have been set up to receive details from affected families and take the appropriate measures to resolve them.
Affected individuals may contact the authorities and discuss their cases at the following telephone numbers:
-
Bahrain: +973 β 173 β 99 - 821
-
Saudi Arabia: +966 β 112 β 409 β 111
-
UAE: +971 β 800 β 2626
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Qatari nationals with mixed families, e.g., spouse, parent or child of a Bahraini, Saudi or Emirati national residing in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia or the UAE, may contact the respective helpline to initiate their request to remain in the country on humanitarian grounds.
Fragomen can help identify impacted nationals and advise on potential restrictions applicable to them.
Fragomen will continue to monitor the developments and will provide further updates as new information is released.
