Basim is a Senior Associate at Fragomen’s Washington, DC office, where he advises clients on all aspects of employment-based immigration, including nonimmigrant visas, immigrant visas and permanent labor certification (PERM). He provides strategic immigration and compliance counsel to clients and their employees in a variety of sectors, including higher education, nonprofit, finance and information technology.
Basim joined Fragomen as an Associate in 2016 after serving as a law clerk in the firm’s Boston and Chicago offices. He then practiced immigration law at another firm for a few years before re-joining Fragomen in his current role.
During law school, Basim interned at the Department of Justice Executive Office for Immigration Review Detroit Immigration Court and USCIS’s Office of the Chief Counsel.
Prior to attending law school, Basim provided immigration services, including case management and compliance auditing, for international faculty, staff and students at one of the largest public universities in the U.S.
Basim speaks English, Hindi and Urdu.
