Emma works with a range of corporate clients including hedge funds and asset management firms, leaders in the aerospace and manufacturing industry as well as IT companies to deliver bespoke immigration advice. Emma focuses on developing strategies and solutions for PBS compliance issues, maintaining her clients’ ability to transfer employees to the UK under all available branches of the Points Based System and seeking alternative immigration solutions by utilizing the immigration rules and European legislation.
Emma also oversees Fragomen’s Tier 5 Government Authorised Exchange Internship programme on a daily basis and assists with assessing the eligibility of participating members to join the scheme and compliance issues.
Emma was previously an Entry Clearance Officer for the British Embassy in Qatar, where she oversaw the day-to-day working of the Visa Section and reviewed the operation of the Visa Application Centre so that customers received the best standard of service possible. On a daily basis, Emma reviewed and decided numerous applications for business visitor visas; applications based on Tier 1 (General) of the PBS; applications for visas for crew members to join vessels; student applications; and EEA family permit applications.
Prior to joining Fragomen, Emma advised corporate clients on a range of immigration matters. In addition, she advised private clients on appeals in the UK’s Asylum and Immigration Tribunal and on the ability to settle and naturalize in the UK, including the ability to apply to remain in the UK on a discretionary basis.
