Waleed is an Associate at Fragomen’s Santa Clara office, where he assists clients with their corporate immigration needs, including all nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, as well as adjustment of status cases and naturalization. He also counsels corporate clients on effective strategies to expand and improve their U.S.-based immigration programs.

As an immigrant and naturalized U.S. citizen, Waleed brings a well-rounded approach to his practice. He has supported clients in a variety of industries, including: agriculture, automotive (electric), biotechnology, data storage/management/analysis, health care, manufacturing, retail, semiconductor, solar energy, technology (artificial intelligence and machine learning applications) and wholesale trade.  

Prior to joining Fragomen, Waleed worked with the global immigration team at a Fortune 500 company, where he was responsible for preparing U.S. nonimmigrant visa petitions for the company’s engineering division. Waleed has also served as a law clerk at several law firms in the U.S., Turkey and Egypt, where he focused on immigration and international law.

During law school, Waleed provided pro bono immigration counseling and court representation through McGeorge's Immigration Clinic. In this capacity, he assisted with deportation defense, VAWA and DACA applications, and helped clients obtain U visas. He has also provided pro bono assistance on asylum cases for Syrian and El Salvadorian nationals.

Developed creative, compliant strategies for companies with employees who could no longer extend their immigration status within the U.S.

Prepared legal arguments based on national interest for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, to help employees and their families avoid losing their immigration status.  

Assisted in the drafting and analysis of legal arguments under EU and international law for a petition to amend the Schengen Agreement by decreasing EU visa restrictions.
