History

Established in 1951, Fragomen has grown from a respected domestic U.S. immigration law practice to a truly global organization.

Our expansion has been a direct result of our strategic decision to establish offices in the markets where our clients would benefit from our on-the-ground presence.

We intend to maintain our status as the largest and leading immigration services provider by extending our service capabilities and our global presence to meet our clients’ needs and market demands.

 

1951 - Firm originally established as Elmer Fried P.C. in New York City

1978 - Opened second office in Washington, DC

1979 - Opened Florida and San Francisco offices

1980 - Opened Los Angeles office

1985 - Opened Chicago office

1988 - Opened New Jersey office

1995 - Opened office in Silicon Valley

1997 - Opened Troy and Irvine offices

1998 - Opened Dallas office

1999 - Opened first international office in Brussels

2002 - Opened offices in Boston, Hong Kong and Singapore

2003 - Opened offices in London and Frankfurt, and expanded the firm globally with the acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers's Australia immigration practice, establishing offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane

2004 - Expanded our U.S. presence with the acquisition of Hirson, Wexler & Perl in San Diego and Irvine

2006 - Opened Shanghai office

2007 - Opened Bengaluru, Kochi, and San Jose, Costa Rica offices

2008 - Opened offices in Beijing, Dubai and Toronto

2008 - Acquired the immigration practice of Littler Mendelson and established a Phoenix office

2009 - Opened Johannesburg office

2011 - Expands Australia practice with the acquisition of Greenberg Australia and added an Auckland, New Zealand office

2012 - Opened Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Atlanta, and Zurich offices

2013 - Opened offices in Doha and Mexico City

2014 - Expanded office in Dallas and opened offices in Houston, Nairobi and Kuala Lumpur

2015 - Established offices in Santiago and Bogotá

2016 - Opened Sheffield office and established offices in Panama City and Lima

2017 - Opened Dublin and Pittsburgh offices, and established offices in Buenos Aires and Caracas 

2018 - Opened offices in Paris, Abu Dhabi and Guatemala City

2020 - Acquired SimpleCitizen

2021 - Opened offices in Amsterdam and Salt Lake City, and acquired Nomadic
