The situation
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in Singapore has announced that sponsoring companies are no longer required to endorse its forms using their company stamps.
Impact
- Simpler process. Sponsoring companies can now submit MOM forms without the additional step of endorsing these forms with their company stamp (for e.g. the Local Sponsor Declaration Form included in the In-Principle Approval letter). Company letters printed on the company's letterhead should also be acceptable without the need for a company stamp.
- Reduced costs. A more streamlined process is likely to reduce processing time and costs associated with obtaining a work pass in Singapore.
Looking ahead
MOM is still in the process of updating its forms and has given notice that applicants may disregard the company stamp field if it still shows on their application forms.
