Official Minimum Salary Level Lower Than Expected
January 24, 2019
The situation
The Czech government confirmed that effective January 1, 2019, the minimum monthly salary for foreign workers in the Czech Republic is CZK 13,350, up nine percent from last year. This is in contrast to the previously-reported proposed increase of 12 percent.
A closer look
All previously-reported conditions still apply.
Impact
While the increase is considerable, employers are expected to easily meet the new threshold since foreign workers typically receive salaries well above the threshold.
