In this article published by Law360, Partner Audrea J. Golding discusses the impact the visa processing backlog is having on businesses that are eagerly awaiting their recruits from overseas and how some are shifting to remote work abroad in the interim.
U.S. businesses coping with immigration backlogs are turning to remote work abroad while they endure lengthy visa processing times that are keeping sought-after international recruits overseas.
"Companies are making all of the effort, absorbing all of the costs, because they need that talent and skill set, but it is impacting their business," says Audrea. U.S. companies are now revising their remote work policies, training employees from afar and, if possible, transferring them to other overseas branches in an effort to fix visa processing time delays.
