August 24, 2023
The Australian government announced its 2023-24 permanent Migration program planning levels, reverting to pre-COVID-19 figures. Of the total 190,000 available slots, the Family stream will take 52,500 places (28% of the program), and the Skill stream will take 137,000 places (72%). Within the Skill stream, most visa categories have remained consistent or decreased from 2022-23 levels, except for the employer-sponsored category, which increased from 35,000 to 36,825. Additionally, the government will invest AUD 27.8 million over two years to enhance visa technology systems, aiming to improve service delivery efficiency.
