Azerbaijan: New Work Permit Exemption for Technology Park Residents

Residents of one of the national technology parks (key parks include the High-Tech Park, the High Technologies Park, and the Sumgait Technologies Park) and specialists with experience in the field of information and communication technologies employed by residents of a technology park, are now exempt from a work permit in Azerbaijan. The technology parks are tech incubators that provide tax and other benefits for residents. To qualify, applicants must meet certain technology-driven factors and experience. Those who qualify for the work permit exemption will be able to stay and work in Azerbaijan for up to one year (with the possibility of renewal) under a Temporary Residence Permit.
