The Ministry of Justice’s General Coordination of Labor Immigration is facing processing delays derived from the high volume of humanitarian family reunion applications submitted by Haitian and other refugees. Some foreign nationals applying for initial visas and renewals (including Work Contract Visas, Technical Assistance Visas, and Transfer of Technology Visas, among others) with the Ministry of Justice are currently experiencing processing times of 45 days or more (up from the usual standard processing time of 30 days). Visa applications filed at the Federal Police (such as Mercosur Visas and family reunion requests) are unaffected.
