Canada: Family Reunification Permanent Residence Pathway for Colombians, Haitians and Venezuelans Announced

Update November 24, 2023: The dedicated permanent residence humanitarian pathway for eligible Colombians, Haitians and Venezuelans has officially opened. Interested applicants can contact their immigration professional for eligibility assessments and case-specific advice.
The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has announced plans to open a new humanitarian permanent residence pathway in the next few months for eligible Colombian, Haitian and Venezuelan foreign nationals who are outside Canada and have family connections in Canada. To qualify, the principal applicant must be a child (regardless of age), grandchild, spouse, common-law partner, parent, grandparent or sibling of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. According to the Minister, successful applicants will be offered enhanced pre-arrival services, including employment skills assessments and referrals to settlement organizations in their intended community. Detailed information will be available closer to the launch of the new pathway.
