Canada: Higher Financial Requirements for Study Permit Applicants

Effective September 1, 2025, study permit applicants (outside Quebec) will be required to meet higher minimum financial support thresholds, with amounts increasing by approximately 10–11% compared to current levels. For instance, a single applicant will need to show that they have CAD 22,895 to cover living expenses, up from the current requirement of CAD 20,635.
