Canada: Permanent Residence and Citizenship Filing Fees Increased

On April 30, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will increase fees for all permanent residence applications. Permanent Residence fees increase every two years to account for inflation. The changes are as follows:  

    • Right of Permanent Residence fee will increase to CAD 600, up from CAD 575;  
    • Federal High Skilled, Provincial Nominee Program, Quebec Skilled Workers and most economic pilots fees will increase to CAD 990, up from CAD 950;  
    • Business category (federal and Quebec) fee will increase to CAD 1,895, up from CAD 1,810;  
    • Family Reunification fee will increase to CAD 570, up from CAD 545;  
    • Protected Persons and Humanitarian and Compassionate/Public Policy fees will increase to CAD 660, up from CAD 635; and  
    • Permit Holders fee will increase to CAD 390, up from CAD 375.  

Fees will also increase for accompanying spouses and partners as well as children. IRCC will also increase the right of citizenship fee for adult applicants to CAD 123, up from CAD 119.75, effective March 31, 2026.
