The Canadian government recently introduced a Recognized Employer Pilot (REP) as part of the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program to address labour shortages and reduce administrative burdens for employers who have a history of complying with program requirements.
The REP will be rolled out in two phases: primary agriculture employers—the most active users of the TFW Program—will be eligible to apply beginning in September 2023. All other employers will then be eligible to apply starting in January 2024.
In this Canadian HR Reporter article, Partner Jack Kim explains how the REP will help address the country's labour shortages and the ways it will benefit Canadian businesses.
