Changes in Payment Procedures for Work and Temporary Residence Permits
April 28, 2017
Azerbaijan
Due to recent changes in Tax Legislation regarding the limitation of cash operations, State Authorities and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CABC) have provided new instructions on payment procedures for Work and Temporary Residence Permit government processing fees. The instructions, issued by the CABC on April 17, 2017, specify that effective immediately, duties and fees for the State Migration Services must be paid through the Government Payment Portal.
Prior to this change, authorized agents were able to pay such fees to the State Migration Services on behalf of applicants.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Effective immediately, employers or foreign nationals applying for Work and Temporary Residence Permits for Azerbaijan must pay government processing fees directly to the State Migration Services. Applicants should allow additional time for the processing of such payments, as the new procedures are still being developed. Employers and foreign nationals should seek advice from their local banks on available payment methods to ensure that payments are successfully processed.
