Chile: Visa-Free Travel Now Available for Australian Visitors
September 24, 2025
Through a recently published government decree, Chile has added Australia to the list of countries whose citizens may enter visa-free. Effective immediately, Australian nationals can travel to Chile for tourism or business purposes without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, with the option to extend once for an additional 90 days from within Chile. The previous visa requirement for Australians was introduced in December 2019 as a reciprocity measure. The new decree removes this requirement, streamlining short-term travel and easing administrative burdens for Australian visitors.
