The General Immigration Directorate (DGME) has announced that nationals and residents of Costa Rica entering the country by air or sea will no longer receive a stamp in their passport. The measure is intended to promote digitalization and expedite the immigration process at Costa Rican airports. Nationals and residents who need a record of their exit or entry can request a migratory movement record or a Migratory Movement Certificate from the DGME, while the DGME develops a dedicated website where individuals would be able to download these records. The change does not affect non-resident foreign nationals who will continue to receive entry stamps that include their authorized period of stay in Costa Rica.
