Czech Republic: Foreign Nationals Can Now Source Travel, Health Insurance from Multiple Providers

Effective September 20, 2023, foreign nationals can source travel and health insurance from any insurer authorized to operate in the Czech Republic. Previously, foreign nationals were only allowed to obtain such insurance from the insurer PVZP. Although affected individuals can now enjoy a more relaxed insurance market, they should remain mindful of the minimum requirements for travel-related medical insurance, including that the insurance package must cover the intended period of stay and provide ‘all-risk’ insurance, with coverage of at least EUR 30,000 for emergency medical costs or repatriation expenses.
