
Update – May 12, 2026: Further details of the registration/deregistration procedure have been clarified. Key compliance timelines for the registration process are as follows:

- Foreign workers must be registered prior to commencement of work. The registration must be submitted no earlier than eight days prior to the employee’s work start date and no later than one day before the work start date.

- Any changes to registered employee data must be reported within eight days of the employer becoming aware of the change.

- Deregistration must be completed within eight days of the end of employment (or other applicable triggering event).

- Not all employee data previously submitted to the Labour Office will automatically transfer to the new Social Security system. As such, retrospective registrations or amendments to employee registrations are required for all employees who commenced employment before April 1, 2026. The official deadline for submitting such information was April 30, 2026; but immigration practitioners have observed flexibility from authorities regarding this deadline. Affected individuals should contact their immigration advisor for further advice.
Since all employees must now be registered with the Social Security authorities as part of the onboarding process, and due to the new consolidated monthly report, this requires coordination with the payroll team.
April 1, 2026: Effective April 2026, registrations and de-registrations of all employees – whether Czech nationals, EU nationals or non-EU nationals – will be handled through one consolidated monthly notification submission. This new notification will replace the approximately 25 different forms that employers have previously been required to submit for each individual employee. This includes the Labour Office registration and deregistration obligations for foreign nationals, which will no longer be submitted separately. This should streamline the administrative processes involved in registering new employees and deregistering employees who leave organizations.
