Denmark: New Healthcare Sector Permit Reforms
June 7, 2024
Effective July 1, 2024, Denmark will relax immigration pathways for medical professionals. First, certain social and healthcare worker roles will be added to the Positive List for Skilled Work. The Positive Lists – which are updated twice a year – designate shortage occupations that are then subject to relaxed minimum salary requirements. Second, healthcare professionals who have been approved by the Patient Safety Authority under a new healthcare professional authorization scheme will be eligible for a residence permit for the purpose of obtaining their Danish medical practitioner authorization and will also no longer need to obtain a separate work authorization to work.
