Visa exemption for Thailand: Who can travel without a visa?
As part of Thai visa categories, nationals of 93 countries are entitled to a visa exemption for tourism purpose.
Foreign nationals who are not eligible for this exemption must apply for a visa for stays up to 60 days.
What is the Tourist Visa (TR)?
The tourist visa, also called visa TR, is a short-term visa that allows foreign nationals to enter Thailand for tourism, such as visiting friends or relatives.
It is typically issued for stays up to 60 days, with the option to extend for another 30 days through the Thai Immigration Bureau.

This visa is intended for travelers who want to explore Thai culture, nature and hospitality without engaging in work or study.
The benefit is a short-term stay up to 60 days, extendable for a maximum of 30 days.

Who needs a tourist visa for Thailand?
For most nationalities, eligibility depends on the country of origin and passport requirements.
Some nationalities are visa exempt for short stays, while others must apply in advance.
