Estonia: Stricter Requirements for Spouses of Student Visa Holders
November 17, 2022
Spouses of student visa holders must now show that they have sufficient financial resources to live in Estonia. Previously, there was no such requirement. Sufficient financial resources are considered to be .2 times the minimum monthly salary established by the Estonian government, which is currently EUR 130.80 per day. Therefore, if a spouse requires a D-visa for 30 days, they must show that they have EUR 3,294 (130.80 x 30 days) in their bank account. Spouses of doctoral students are exempt from this new requirement.
