Fragomen Webcast: Immigration in the Trump Administration - Impact of New Restrictions on Foreign Student Program

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has announced that it will be rolling back its relaxed policy on online learning following the COVID-19 pandemic. Foreign students attending schools that are operating entirely online will not be permitted to take a full online course load and remain in the United States starting with the Fall 2020 term. F-1 students enrolled in fully online programs must depart the United States or transfer to a school with in-person instruction in order to maintain their lawful status.

Please join us for a webcast that will provide the latest available information for schools, universities and companies that rely on foreign student talent. Topics will include:

  • Overview of SEVP's new policy and what it means for F-1 and M-1 students, as well as for schools and universities and companies that rely on this talent pool
  • Compliance issues for schools and universities
  • Additional forthcoming agency actions impacting F-1 students, such as potential revisions to the H-1B program
  • Pending litigation and advocacy options
  • Interactive Q&A session
