Recent changes to the priority arrangements for skilled visa processing have created uncertainty around processing timeframes, particularly for offshore applicants.
Following the introduction of Ministerial Direction 119, applications are now prioritised according to both the applicant’s location at the time of lodgement and, for certain applicants, their occupation.
For employers recruiting internationally, these changes may affect anticipated start dates, workforce planning and the timing of employee transfers. While early processing data is beginning to emerge, processing times remain an evolving picture and current figures should be treated as an indicative guide only.
Join Fragomen's Australian immigration Partners, Chris Spentzaris and Charles Johanes, for a 30-minute webcast as they discuss the latest developments and what employers need to know.
During this session, we will cover:
- How Ministerial Direction 119 is being implemented
- The current priority framework for skilled visa applications
- What the latest processing time data tells us, and its limitations
- Considerations for employers planning international hires and employee transfers
- Practical steps employers can take while greater clarity continues to emerge
- What we are hearing through our ongoing engagement with government
This webinar will be offered at two sessions:
Session 1 | 8:00am - 8:30am AEST
Session 2 | 4:00pm - 4:30pm AEST
