Government Office Closures During APEC Meetings

The Beijing Public Security Bureau and Labor Bureau have confirmed a six-day public holiday from November 7-12, 2014, during the APEC summit. New visa and renewal applications will not be accepted during this period.
Offices will reopen on November 13, 2014.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
New applications for work and/or residence permits to Beijing should take this closure period into account when calculating processing times.
Renewal applications for work and/or residence permits expiring between November 7 and 12 should be filed by November 6, 2014.
Foreign nationals should carry their permits with them as security is expected to tighten during the APEC summit.
