Greece: In-Country Digital Nomad Policy Updates
April 15, 2024
Update - April 15, 2024: The Greek government has confirmed that it no longer intends to cease in-country applications, and that both in-country and overseas application options will remain available going forward.
Update - January 9, 2024: In-country applications for Digital Nomad visas did not cease as expected on January 1, 2024. Rather, such in-country applications can still be submitted, and are expected to be possible until at least March 2024, if not later.
Effective January 1, 2024, Greece will no longer allow for in-country applications for the Digital Nomad visa. Applicants will need to apply through Greek consular posts instead, which will mean applications must be filed in the applicant’s country of citizenship or residence (as opposed to in Greece). Processing times and documentary requirements may vary from one country to another.
