Hong Kong SAR: Enhanced Appointment Booking System for Hong Kong Identification Card Applications Forthcoming
April 12, 2023
The Immigration Department (ImmD) of Hong Kong SAR announced further enhancements to appointment booking arrangements for identity card applications, starting April 12, 2023. Applicants, who are reaching 11 or 18 years of age, who already possess a Hong Kong identification card, can book appointments for replacement cards during extended service hours at four designated Registration of Persons (ROP) Offices: the Hong Kong office, Kowloon office, Kwun Tong office, and Tuen Mun office. Individuals reaching 11 or 18 years of age who have never held a Hong Kong identification card must still book appointments during normal ROP service hours for their initial identification card registration. Additionally, the appointment bookable period for the ROP services appointment booking system has been extended from 24 business days to 96 business days, offering greater flexibility for applicants. Hong Kong SAR residents must use the ImmD mobile application or scan a QR code to make appointments online for the ROP offices. Unscheduled application submissions will not be processed.
